iPhone 6S Problems & Their Solutions: The Most Common Complaints

Although iPhone 6S is not a major upgrade over its predecessor, it is a pretty amazing smartphone. It certainly is more powerful than iPhone 6 and brings 3D Touch to the list of iPhone's flagship features.

As expected, the sales of iPhone 6S have been phenomenal, and people love their devices. However, there are many who aren’t having a smooth experience with the iPhone 6S that you’d usually expect from an Apple device.

So, if you are planning to buy an iPhone 6S in India, we suggest you become aware of the problems that you may face and also understand how you can resolve those issues. These are the most commonly reported issues with iPhone 6s.

Poor Battery life

There has been a lot of bickering on the Internet over the poor battery life of iPhone 6S. There is two possible variant of the A9 chip in the phone, one which is built by TSMC and other by Samsung. Apparently, for some people, the Samsung chip could result in an hour less battery life. Apple has, however, dismissed it to be the reason for faster battery drainage.

There are a few potential solutions that you might want to try to restore your battery life:

- You can find out if your chip is made by Samsung or TSMC through a free app called Lirium Device. You can choose to return the Samsung chips if you wish to. Although, there’s no guarantee though that you’ll see a significant difference.
- You can turn off or uninstall the apps that are draining your power.
- Use your phone in Low Power Mode, which will shut down some battery-draining features, like “Hey Siri,” background app refresh, and visual effects.

Overheating

General overheating is a common complaint among iPhone 6S users. But it is something that is prevalent among all smartphones when used for an extended period. But if your iPhone is getting heated up for no apparent reason, you could try some of these solutions:

- The obvious thing to do is to let your phone cool down on its own. Just give it some rest.
- Look for apps that are draining suspicious amount of power
- Last resort is to do a complete factory reset

Randomly turning off

Some iPhone 6S owners are complaining about random shutdowns. It means the iPhone is turning off randomly, and won’t respond to a simple Sleep/Wake button press.

If you are to face this, here’s what you can do:

- Hold down the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together for ten seconds, and the iPhone should reboot.
- Restoring old data may be causing this issue. Factory resetting your iPhone will help in this case.
- If nothing works, then you should contact Apple support.

So, as you can see that these problems aren’t very different that you face in any other smartphone. So, if you are still planning to buy a brand new iPhone 6S in India, we’d suggest you go ahead and buy this much-loved gadget. If you maintain caution and treat your phone well, your phone will treat you well in return.
