iPhone 8 Likely to Get New Copper Colour

As the countdown to the eventual unveiling of the OLED iPhone gets closer, new dummy units based on the latest leaks continue to emerge. Ben Miller had posted images of a dummy unit of the new iPhone 8 with a gold/bronze/copper colour, while Benjamin Geskin also suggested same colour themes.

However, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the iPhone 8 would be launched in September 2017 in three colours: gold, black and silver. This is markedly different from the iPhone 7 that came in six colour variants: black, silver, rose gold, gold, jet black and red.

This reduction in colour variety may be due to a decision to scale down production. According to Kuo, even if production is scaled up, not more than 4 million units would be ready by the end of this quarter.

The yet-to-be-released iPhone 8 may offer features like 3D facial recognition, A11 processor, and a faster and / or wireless charging. The physical home button would likely be replaced by a virtual one, although it is still yet to be seen how Apple intends to handle Touch ID if it is not completely replaced with facial recognition.

Ben Miller had also compared the iPhone 8 dummy unit to its 5.5 inches iPhone 7 Plus predecessor showing how the iPhone 8 5.8 inch OLED display will provide more screen real estate without requiring a larger casing. The comparison goes to show that the OLED iPhone will still retain all the benefits of the iPhone 7 Plus as well as the more manageable housing of the OLED iPhone model.
In spite of its top-notch camera sensors and speaker cutout, it's significantly reduced bezel that makes most of its top and bottom chin go away makes a lot of difference. And according to rumours making the rounds, Apple would limit the colour options for all its three new iPhones to three: gold, silver and black. This OLED iPhone would, however, ship in the black bezel, giving it a more seamless and stylish look.

The new OLED iPhone is expected to feature a new bezel-less design; however, the 4.7 inch and the 5.5 inch LCD iPhones are supposed to feature similar designs to the current flagship models having glass backs and wireless charging.

So if you are in India and are anxiously waiting for the release of this iPhone in India, you now have what to look forward to.
